The Social Democrats party has addressed a number of key disability issues – including a cost of disability payment – in their manifesto ‘Building A Better Future 2016-2026’ which has been launched in Dublin. Page 24 of the document is entitled ‘Empower Those with Disabilities’ and goes into depth about Ireland’s failure to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and outlines numerous disability priorities for the Party.
