Rethink Ireland, Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024 awards presentation

The Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024 is a €2.4 million, 1-year fund created by Rethink Ireland in partnership with the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). The fund supports 14 change-making non-profit organisations focused on supporting people with disabilities to participate in community life.

The goal of the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund 2024 is to support innovative projects or organisations across Ireland.

The National Platform of Self Advocates is delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding under Strand 2 of the fund: Promote disability awareness and training for people with disabilities at a local level.

Our project plan involves us:

  • networking with local self-advocacy groups,
  • creating a stronger national structure,
  • creating training materials in Advocacy, Leadership and the use of technology,
  • connecting people with events and consultations that affect their lives.
